Evan Spinks holds multiple national certifications and has been working in the fitness community for over 29 years. He grew up in New York City, where he began as a personal trainer in 1994. Throughout Evan's career, he's enjoyed great success, coaching hundreds of clients in large health clubs, small boutique gyms and in their homes. In 2022 Evan and his family relocated to Newport Coast, California and is now offering his coaching expertise to individuals and small groups at Prevail Strength & Conditioning in Laguna Beach, CA.
Back in 1981 I met a friend at one of NYC’s oldest YMCA's where he introduced me to boxing. And in that run-down, musty gym, with little more than a pair of hand-wraps, lace-up boxing gloves and a jump-rope, I learned the secret to getting fit. Fast forward almost 40 years later and I’m training smarter, harder and more consistently.

Sounds simple right? Except I left out the most important part. Fun! If you don't enjoy the process it’s only a matter of time before you quit. That’s the real reason so many people never get in shape.
At age 40 I began training MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) which opened my eyes to a whole new world of exercise techniques. Since then, I've found creative, effective and fun ways to incorporate all of those disciplines into my personally customized programs.
And no, you don't need to be a fighter to train like one.
